Antonio Benayas

Antonio Benayas holds a Researcher position in the group "phantom-g" at Materials’ Science Institute of Aveiro (CICECO) Portugal, and he works at Rao Lab as Visiting Scholar in the Stanford School of Medicine (USA), aiming towards bimodal imaging in vivo imaging nanoplatforms. Dr. Benayas obtained his PhD cum laude in Physics of Light and Matter from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM, Spain) in 2012, - his Thesis devoted to lanthanide ions acting as structural and thermal probes within inorganic bulk materials. Later on, he developed near-infrared luminescent nanoparticles for in vivo imaging and thermometry at Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS, Canada). He has authored around 40 peer-reviewed papers, and one book chapter -edited by the Royal Society of Chemistry- on fluorescence nanothermometry.
