Igor Meglinski

Igor Meglinski is a full professor and director of the Opto-electronics and Measurement Techniques Unit at the University of Oulu, Finland. He obtained PhD degree in Biophysics and Biomedical Optics at the University of Pennsylvania/USA and Saratov State University/Russia in 1997. His research interests lie at the interface between physics, biomedical engineering, medicine and biological sciences, focusing on the development of new sensors and non-invasive optical diagnostic/imaging techniques and their applications in medicine & biology, material sciences, combustion, pharmacy, environmental monitoring, agricultural, food processing and the health care industries. Prof. Meglinski is author and/or co-author of over 250 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journal, conference proceedings and book chapter and delivered over 470 presentations at a range of conferences, symposia and workshops, including over 220 invited lectures and plenary talks. He is Fellow of the Institute of Physics, Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow of SPIE.
